Tomorrow is Valentine's Day! If you are bringing your Secondary student (a student in grades 6 through 12) any Valentine's goodies, please understand that these may be brought to the front office of each campus (the Junior High and High School), but they will not be given/delivered to the student until the end of the school day. Attention Big Sandy Elementary Parents and Guardians: We have another Elementary picture day tomorrow! No money is required tomorrow, as pictures can be ordered once packets are distributed later this month. Also, class pictures will be in April! Go Wildcats!

Coronation Reminder: There is a mandatory practice tonight at 6:30 pm. It is very important that all students participating be here. You will receive 2 free tickets and a picture schedule at practice. Also, tickets for Saturday’s Coronation are on sale now in the Elementary Office they are $4.00 for adults and $2.00 for students if you wish to purchase ahead of time.

Substitute training class will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, January 29, starting at 9:00 am, in the Main Gym Foyer. If you would like to sub in Big Sandy ISD, you must first attend a training class. Bring personal ID, documentation for your I-9, and any transcript for highest level of education.

All proceeds from tonight’s gate at Junior High Basketball will be donated to Athens ISD, in the wake of the recent tragedy. The basketball gate proceeds at Union Grove will be treated the same way. We will be taking donations at the gate tonight.

In support of Athens ISD, everyone is encouraged to wear Maroon to school on Monday, January 28th. Go Wildcats!

Reminder: No school on Monday, January 21, 2019, as we observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. School will resume on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at normal time. Go Wildcats!

We are looking for some great people to become a part of the Wildcat Family, in both Custodial and Maintenance! The positions will be tied to bus driving, which will also come with additional pay! If you know of anyone that may be interested, please spread the word!

I just spoke with the Chamber of Commerce- Big Sandy. The parade is still happening this evening. The rain chances have gone down, with a 45% chance at 5:00 pm, falling to a 15% chance at 6:00 pm and throughout the parade times. I'll keep you posted if there are any changes for this evening, but at this time, please plan on attending the Big Sandy Christmas Parade tonight, Thursday, December 13th, which starts at 6:30 pm!

Attention: Our 3rd Grade students are doing a FOOD DRIVE for the Love BS Project! The letter attached explains the details! Go Wildcats!

There will be a send off pep rally today at 11:30 in the gym for our playoff football game tonight. We play against Leon at Palestine Westwood at 7:30. Go Wildcats!

FYI....an emergency helicopter has landed on the baseball field in order to pick someone up from an ambulance in Big Sandy. The baseball field is the assigned location for the landing whenever someone must be transported by helicopter. This situation does not involve anyone from the school.

The Spirit Store will still be open this morning for you to get your Wildcat gear for today’s pep rally and tonight’s game vs Cushing! Go Wildcats!

UPDATE: The power is back on at the school and surrounding area. Buses will run 2 hours later than normal. For example, if you get picked up at 7:20 am on a typical morning, the bus will pick you up at 9:20 am this morning. School will start at 10:00 am. We have pep rally today and a home football game vs Cushing! Let’s get ready to kick off the weekend with a great day! Thank you all for your patience during this power outage. Cushing ISD just contacted us and has cancelled the JH Football game for this evening, due to rain and inclement weather!
